Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering within the RBUSD. We invite parents to be actively involved in our schools and believe volunteers are an asset in supporting students.

We care about the safety of our students and staff, so all volunteers must apply and be approved before they can begin to volunteer at a school site. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at a school site, please read over the Volunteer Handbook and fill out the necessary forms. Please return the completed forms to your child’s school office.

The school site will collect a copy of your Identification and TB Test, if necessary. This procedure must be followed for every volunteer each school year, even if the person was authorized to volunteer in previous years.

School personnel use the California Department of Justice database website to check a volunteer’s status as a registered sex offender. The only acceptable result is “Your search returned no results.”

A school principal must authorize the volunteer. Under California law, a principal may not authorize a person to volunteer if the person has been convicted of a violent or serious felony or if they are a registered sex offender.

After approval by the site principal, the forms will be held in the school office until the end of the school year.

Thank you for your support!
