AVID
What is AVID?
AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a six-year college preparatory program serving grades 7-12 at Redondo Beach Unified School District for highly motivated students who are serious about their academic futures and wish to attend four-year universities upon high school graduation. AVID is a program designed to serve students “in the middle,” especially those who will be first generation college students. Candidates apply for the program in the spring to be considered for acceptance in the fall. Good candidates tend to have a 2.0-3.5 academic G.P.A. and CAASPP scores within the Standard Met or Standard Exceeded range.
