Question: Which school should my child attend?
Answer: Assigned neighborhood attendance areas are determined by street name and number. About 90 percent of our students attend their neighborhood school. We do have an open enrollment policy that allows students to apply to attend a school other than their assigned school if there is space available.

Question: Can I enroll in a school other than my assigned school?
Answer: All elementary schools offer the same outstanding educational programs. However, certain sites may provide something different that you may prefer for your child. The District’s Open Enrollment Policy allows attendance at a school other than your neighborhood site. The Open Enrollment (School of Choice) period is during the month of March. Registration is based on available space. If you are interested in having your child attend another Redondo Beach school, please contact the principal of your local site. Annually, the District will determine the number of open spaces available at each site. Available spaces, if needed, will be selected by lottery. The lottery will be held on a date designated by the District following the open enrollment period in March.
Question: Does Redondo Beach Unified have specific attendance boundaries for each school?
Answer: Yes. The District believes in the neighborhood school concept. Each school has defined attendance boundaries in order to ensure there is enough room for the students living in the area where the school is located.
